In May 1996 a bundle of fluff came into our lives and we were blessed with having "The BESTEST Dog in the World" with us for 9 years. BONham/FerKO's BONKO was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer in June 2004. She fought the cancer with dignity and chemo until Sept. 7, 2005.
We would like to share some of our favorite pictures from over the years. Click on any thumbnail to see a larger image.

and then came BARLEY
Bonko's Bluff BARLEYwine
We knew that we would get another Golden, regardless of the cancer possibilities. They are just the best breed as far as we are concerned. So we went looking for our next bundle of joy just 2 months after we lost Bonko. We looked at several litters before we found our sweetheart. A naming campaign kept our friends busy trying to come up with a name that had as much character as BONKO. She was Baileys for about 2 days before BARLEY became the obvious choice. After all her Dad's hobby is brewing beer. So, her offical name is Bonko's Bluff Barleywine.
She looks very sweet in pictures, but she was a REAL handfull in the 1st year.
She is quite the cuddler and still thinks she is lap dog size.
